Management & Conservation of the Helmeted Honeyeater

In Australia over the last 200 years, nearly 10% of the mammal fauna and more than 150 vascular plant species have become extinct. Many other species of plants and animals persist as small, remnant populations.

Perhaps the most important cause of these extinctions has been habitat loss resulting from changing land use practices and the introduction of exotic animals and plants.
