Mangroves: Mangroves Examples

'Mangrove' refers to a community of woody trees and shrubs that grow in tidal, saline, coastal habitats. Mangroves are a diverse group of plants, represented by 15 families just within Australia. There are at least 35 species in the tropics and subtropics of northern Australia alone. In other words, mangroves represent an ecological rather than a taxonomic group.
