Pollination: Trigger-plants
The movement of the column, the combined male and female structure of the flower
in these plants is the fastest movement in the plant kingdom.
When triggered by the insect pollinator, the column strikes the insect on the back transferring pollen to it
or receiving pollen from it depending on the state of development of that flower.
