Management & Conservation of the Helmeted Honeyeater

A model of the helmeted honeyeater population was developed by Mark Burgman and Michael McCarthy (Botany, University of Melbourne.) The model predicts the growth or decline of the helmeted honeyeater population given different management strategies and forms the basis of the Management Game, which you will play.

The model starts with an initial number of birds, which can be either juveniles or adults. Each bird has a chance of surviving until the next year and each adult has a chance of breeding.
